PEA Technology

The PEA Workflow

  1. Immuno Reaction: Two complementary antibodies, each tagged with unique DNA oligonucleotides, bind simultaneously to the target protein in solution.
  2. Extension: When the antibodies are in proximity, their attached complimentary DNA oligonucleotides hybridize. DNA polymerase then extends the hybridized DNA, creating a unique DNA barcode for each protein.
  3. Detection: This unique DNA barcode is amplified via PCR, allowing detection through next-generation sequencing (NGS for Olink Explore) or quantitative PCR (qPCR for Olink Target Panels).

What is Olink

Olink is a powerful technology that provides a solution to many of the challenges associated with biomarker discovery in proteomics, enabling high-throughput screening of multiple biomarkers using small volumes of patient material, generating high quality, actionable data.

Applications of Olink® Proteomics Technology:

Accelerate targeted protein biomarker research through the screening of over 1400 established or 5400+ exploratory protein biomarkers.

  • Study molecular mechanisms in physiological and pathological conditions
  • Identify novel biomarkers for early disease detection and therapy response
  • Characterize protein signatures that are applicable across a wide range of diseases, including immune responses, chronic conditions, neurodegenerative diseases, infectious diseases, cancer, cardiovascular disorders and metabolic or genetic conditions
  • Identify new therapeutic drug targets and elucidate drug mechanisms of action
  • Stratify patients into responders or non-responders for personalized treatments

Explore the latest research in protein biomarker discovery with Olink panels through the extensive list of publications and easily found relevant studies. You can access abstracts, PubMed entries and full-text papers directly from the links provided on the Olink® Insight.
