Sanne Schou Berger
Assay developer at Centre for Diagnostics, DTU Health Technology
Molecular biologist/parasitologist (cand.scient, PhD)
My primary area of responsibility is development and implementation of diagnostic assays for measuring biomarkers and disease specific antibodies. In addition, I am involved in various research projects related to the development of diagnostic analyses across DTU, and with external partners.
My special expertise is development and implementation of serological multiplex analyses based on the Luminex and Mesoscale technologies. I am responsible for ongoing quality assurance of our in-house developed Luminex-based analyses and I have experience with running and quality assuring commercial biomarker kits from Meso Scale in projects with internal and external partners. In recent years, I have also built up expertise in qPCR analyses, especially through participation in Center for Diagnostics work on qPCR testing of Covid-19 samples.
My focus now and in the future is to contribute to the development of new and better diagnostic assays based on various techniques, primarily for use in the human field.
At Centre for Diagnostics, I always have a range of exciting work tasks, and with a good mix of research in the laboratory and behind the desk, I find my job at the Center very fulfilling. I find it exciting and challenging, together with my skilled colleagues, to develop new analyses that can improve the diagnosis of diseases in humans.
